A large puppet with a shifting center of gravity system that can attack the water surface with more strength and distance.
The Puppet Moa is a topwater plug equipped with a "center of gravity shifting system," a rarity in the area.
The Puppet Surface boasts a unique ability to quickly adjust to the fish's mood. While inheriting its DNA, the Puppet Moa has been sized up to focus on situations that were previously difficult to cover, allowing for effective follow-up. Its appealing power draws out the fish's motivation even more, while its high castability allows you to target points a little further away. By using it in conjunction with the Puppet Surface, you can more skillfully adjust to the fish's ever-changing moods. You're sure to enjoy even more exciting surface fishing.
Features |
This lure has a lip, so at first glance it looks like a crankbait, but it's actually a "topwater plug" that relies primarily on rod action to lure. It produces a sharp, brisk, tricky action.
Any sign of the surface starting to stir, such as a slight change in sunlight or wind, is the perfect opportunity to cast it. Of course, times when fish are floating on the surface are great times to easily catch fish with a topwater lure, but other times include when aquatic insects hatch, when leaves or petals fall to the surface, when fish are particularly interested in pellets, or at twilight in the morning and evening.
Effective usage situations |
✔ When you want to bring the fish's activity up towards the surface
✔ When you want to smoothly lure them out from deep waters
✔ When the wind is strong and the water surface is choppy, and you want to give them an opportunity to bite
✔ When you want to somehow pull out motivated fish even when the water temperature, light intensity, wind, etc. are not yet optimal

Equipped with a center of gravity shifting system |
✔ Stabilized flight posture → Stable lure immediately after landing
✔ Increased appeal → Unique knocking sound produced by the weighted ball

Gimmick to improve hooking rate |

Action setting that makes it easy to control the temptation and hooking strength |
The Puppet Moa, on the other hand, inherits the same concept.
For example, if your Puppet Moa is appealing too strongly and you're missing a bite, try weakening the appeal. Conversely, if your appeal is too weak and you're not getting a bite, try making your next action stronger to lead to a bite.
By using it in conjunction with the Puppet Surface, you can provide more effective and shrewd support, allowing for more strategic surface fishing that matches the fish's motivation.
The main way to invite |
The first few seconds after the lure hits the water is your first chance to get a bite. To be able to respond immediately to a bite immediately after the lure hits the water, retrieve any line fluff that comes off during the cast "softly and without tension" during the cast or immediately after the lure hits the water.
Short-pitch rod action (= tip action) is effective when you want to make a steady appeal over a short distance. This makes it easier for fish to target and bite, and the bite is more easily transmitted to the rod, making it effective even in difficult sight conditions.
If you want to efficiently attract trout over a wide area, it's effective to use a stroke action to move the lure a slightly longer distance by lowering the rod. Many trout will chase you from a distance, so it's important to wait a little longer depending on the situation.
Pause By shaking the rod tip, you can create a 3D table turn action that moves back and forth between the surface and just below the surface. This allows you to lure fish with a shorter movement distance. Perfect for when other lures don't fully activate the fish, or when you want to actively entice them to bite in a key spot.
